Foton Motors and Cummins – 50/50 Diesel Engine Joint Venture
Foton Motors and Cummins Inc. signed an agreement to form a 50/50 joint venture company, which will manufacture two types of high-performance Cummins light-duty diesel engines in Beijing, China.

Foton Motors and Daimler – Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing
Foton Motors and Daimler signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Beijing to strengthen their strategic cooperation in the development and manufacturing of high-performance heavy-duty trucks.
Foton Motors established Foton ZF, a joint venture with ZF, a global leader in driveline and chassis technology, as well as active and passive safety systems.
Foton Motors and ZF – Launch of TraXon Automated Transmission Joint Venture (2019)
On April 18th, 2019, ZF Foton HCV Automated Transmissions (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd., a joint venture, held its launch ceremony in Zhejiang Province, China. The joint venture, in which Foton Motors holds a 49% stake, focuses on heavy commercial vehicles and manufactures ZF’s TraXon automatic commercial vehicle transmission system for China.
As environmental challenges have become increasingly prominent globally, Foton Motors partnered with internationally recognized companies including Cummins, ZF, CEVA Logistics, FAURECIA, WABCO, Continental, and Rheinland to establish the China Intelligent Connected Super Truck Alliance (CICSA) in June 2016, aiming to develop breakthrough technologies and build energy-saving, green, and intelligently connected vehicles.
Foton Motors – Global Launch of the Super Truck Project (AUMAN EST) 2016
As the initiator of the alliance, Foton Motors proposed the Super Truck Plan. In line with the plan, and after four years of intensive efforts, Foton Motors built the first Super Truck according to European R&D standards – AUMAN EST, which was launched globally in September 2016.
The vehicle was verified through 10 million km of real-world testing, featuring 208 brand-new technologies across four modules: body, chassis, powertrain, and electrical system. These innovations reduced fuel consumption by 5–10%, cut carbon emissions by 10–15%, and improved transport efficiency by 30%.
With intelligent driving assistance, a B10 service life of 1,500,000 km, and extended service intervals up to 100,000 km, the Super Truck promotes intelligent, high-end development of modern logistics systems.
